Domain Rank

Domain Rank is a ranking score developed by SEO tools such as Ahrefs and MOZ. Domain Rank indicates the overall status of the SEO. It has predictive value in how a website performs in Google. A Domain Rank is a number between 1 and 100 with 100 being the highest level.
Currently, only the Facebook.com website has received a score of 100 from Ahrefs. Among them are websites such as those of Google, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Google Plus and Linkedin.
Domain rank is made up of several factors that are important in the search engines. Some of these include: referring domains and the total number of backlinks to and from a website. These are both outcomes of a link building process that a website undergoes.
The domain rank is calculated using a logarithmic scale. This means it is a lot easier to grow domain rank from 10 to 20, than from 70 to 80. The higher you get, the harder it is to grow.
What is a good domain rank?
In general, the Web sites that have the most backlinks are the highest rated. These are the websites of Twitter and Facebook, among others. Among them are the multinationals or larger companies that have been doing SEO for a long time.
Some examples of these multinationals include Ebay (10), Apple (42) and Samsung (83).
The importance of a high domain rank
However, creating a high domain rank for customers is not our main goal of website optimizations. A high domain rank indicates that a website is doing well. However, it does not directly say anything about the number of trafic or usability for users. In the SEO projects we perform, achieving absolute KPIs is more important. A good example is the number of monthly organic visits (increase). You could also use the height of your keywords’ rankings for this purpose.
Domain ranking is often used as a comparative KPI rather than an absolute KPI. SEO specialists use it as a benchmark for competitors or backlink exchange, for example.
