What is CPA?

CPA is a term to indicate how much online advertising costs based on the action a user takes. CPA stands for Cost Per Action. This action includes such things as downloading a file, filling out a form or completing a purchase.(1)

CPA on non-direct sales

CPA captures the value of a particular action. Is it about selling a product? The CPA is then easily calculated based on the profit margin. Determining the CPA based on other actions is trickier because there are no hard numbers in this case. Non-direct sales such as a quote request or contact request may be of interest for CPA mapping.

The impact of CPA on SEO

CPA has no direct impact on the SEO of a website or page. Using CPA, you determine how much an ad costs based on an action. This does not say much else about search engine optimization.

However, the results of a CPA may have an impact on SEO: the better the results, the more traffic and conversion on your website: these are important parts of search engine optimization.

CPA is especially valuable when it comes to measurable conversion. And while CPA is also applicable to actions without direct sales, it is a lot trickier.

In the case of a quote request, you need the number of quote requests on the site, as well as the number of forms from which customers are registered and the success rate that comes from this.
