By website optimization, we generally mean optimizing a website for search engines such as Google. There are some guidelines that you can follow to optimize your website so that it can be better found by users. If you set up your website optimally, it will rank high in Google.

Website optimization is improving a website to rank better in a search engine. You do this by setting up your site to perfectly meet search engine guidelines. This can be done in a number of ways. A good web structure, interesting content, making the site suitable for mobile devices and a good performance will make your site rank higher.

How do you optimize a website?

One of the most important activities in a website optimization is that the site is also usable on mobile devices. Another important consideration is the appearance of the website. It should exude something that suits your product or service and appeals to your target audience. Also, the page and menu structure should be user-friendly.

There are also a number of technical things that can improve a Web site. For example, it is smart to run your website on a fast server. You should also make sure you have an Https SSL certificate and proper browser caching. In addition, pay attention to the size of the images and make sure file compression is activated.

Website optimization: impact on SEO

Website optimization is almost synonymous with Search Engine Optimization. First, the goal of optimizing your website is to attract more visitors to your pages. What better way to do that than by making the site more organically findable?

Second, you want visitors to have a positive experience on the site. Finally, you want to entice the visitor to take an action. Whereas in the latter two cases it is mainly the presentation of the page that matters, in SEO it is the content that matters most.

My advice

One of the main concerns when optimizing a Web site is attention to content. Make sure visitors’ attention is drawn to your USPs. On landing pages and on the homepage, don’t use long text.

In addition, much of it revolves around SEO. First, make an overview of the most important keywords; you can use Google’s keyword planner for this, for example. In addition, of course, you build the content SEO proof!
