Keyword density counting
About this tool
This tool allows you to determine the keyword density of a given text. When I start working on a desired keyword density, I always look for how the top three in Google do it for the search term I want to rank higher for.
You calculate keyword density using the following formula:
Number of times the search term appears / number of words of the page (total)*100%.
An example is:
8/500*100% = 1,6%
Is keyword density really that important?
Keyword density is not the most important of the things that factor into SEO, but it can be decisive. Part of what I try not to forget in this is the spread of the keyword in the text of the landing page. The spread also makes it look as natural as possible (and not, say, 3-4 times the keyword in one paragraph.
